Your Journey @ The Crossing - Spokane
The Crossing - Spokane Equipping Journey
The Crossing - Spokane acknowledges that every believer is a minister of the gospel. Our Equipping Journey is designed to grow every cell group member from spiritual birth to spiritual leadership through a systematic equipping process. This journey includes equipping booklets and weekend events that are completed at each member’s own pace. The purpose of the journey is Spiritual Formation: to equip every cell member for a life of freedom and ministry in Christ.
Your Equipping Journey at The Crossing - Spokane is divided into 4 parts:
Part 1: Friendship – From Pre-believer to Spiritual Infancy
During this first leg of equipping you are becoming acquainted with The Crossing - Spokane members and with God. This is a time consisting primarily of interaction with a close friend who is a member of a The Crossing - Spokane LIFE (cell) Group, then with the LIFE Group itself. The goal of this part of your journey is to reveal to you God’s essential character of unconditional love. You’ll also learn about the gift of salvation Christ has already given you and you’ll discover the freedom that comes from surrendering your life to him.
Part 2: Discipleship – From Spiritual Infancy to Spiritual Young Adulthood
Discipleship simply means to follow Jesus. During this part of your journey you’ll discover your true identity, destiny, and authority in Christ. You’ll also be equipped with core biblical teaching that will positively affect your journey as you continue to discover the abundant life that God has given you.
Part 3: Membership – From Spiritual Young Adulthood to Spiritual Parenthood
By this point you have become a devoted follower of Christ and been equipped with the core beliefs that guide The Crossing - Spokane community. Next, you’ll have an opportunity to become an official member and continue your journey toward leadership. All The Crossing - Spokane (and biblical) teaching centers around love for God and love for others. At this point you’ll be able to exercise both by mentoring another cell member who is beginning their equipping journey. You’ll also learn how to easily share the good news of the gospel.
Part 4: Leadership – From Spiritual Parenthood to Spiritual Leadership
This exciting phase of your journey is when daily booklet assignments end and you take responsibility for your continued spiritual journey. You’ll learn how to allow God access to your life through diverse spiritual disciplines like study, solitude, celebration, service, and many more. This is also the time when you’ll attend LIFE Leader Intern Class and serve as a LIFE Group Leader Intern. This will equip you for the day, if and when God calls you, to become a LIFE Group Leader.
