The Seven Functions of Biblical Community

S Spiritual Formation

As members of a biblical community, we will commit to personal spiritual growth, accountability and personal development in Christ, using a Spiritual Health Assessment. We will then confess our areas of struggles to one another and set personal goals for our growth in Christ in the year to come.  Through the year we will share our progress and encourage one another regularly in our pursuit of Christ likeness.

E Evangelism

Each household within the biblical community will commit to pray for a least three households within their neighborhood who need to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ.  As a biblical community we will pray together monthly for the personal requests of these neighbors.  We will hold one another accountable to prayerfully reach out to these families.  We desire to see at least one household come to faith in Christ each year.

R Reproduction

Each biblical community intentionally invites and welcomes new members.  Each community will also participate in second touch ministry opportunities both corporately and through individual initiative.  We will have at least one apprentice leader who is preparing to launch a new group as the Lord adds to our number.  We will seek to reproduce another group at least once a year.

V Vision

As members of the biblical community we will commit ourselves to support the vision of the greater body of Christ at Life Connections through whole hearted participation in ministry teams, service opportunities, outreach and the practice of biblical stewardship. Creating environments where children, youth and adults can become fully connecting followers of Christ through our time, talents and treasures. We will celebrate what God is doing in the greater body of Christ through regular Ministry Team gatherings.

I International Missions

As an expression of our desire to share Christ with the world, the biblical community will support at least one international mission project through increased awareness, commitment to prayer, financial contributions, and hands-on involvement.

C Care

The foundation of biblical community will be our commitment to care for one another.  This will be manifested in practical help for those in difficult and crisis situations- hospital or home visits, meal preparation, prayer, and referral to church and community resources. We will also intentionally pray for and seek opportunities to invite, welcome and connect additional disconnected people through the care of biblical community.

E Extending Compassion

In response to the social needs of our community, each biblical community will commit to participating as families in at least four on-site compassion or servant evangelism projects through the year.  Monthly, the biblical community will select, prepare for or celebrate their involvement in their compassion project.
